Lake LaDonna Family Campground provides a family-friendly camping option near White Pines Forest Nature Preserve as well as the city. You may meet people while you are here, as with all tourist destinations. The campground is not short on amenities, including swimming pools, a game room, a plethora of onsite entertainment options and some pretty well stocked showers and restrooms. It's so popular, they even have a waiting line.
It's not uncommon for the campground to attract snooty campers. Therefore, it is important to make sure your group includes the right people. The staff aren't too fussy, however. The campsite is located at 1302 S Harmony Road, just east of Oregon. You may need to reserve a campsite. May and September are the most popular months for camping, with June and October being slower. Pets are welcome at the campground, but there are some rules. A number of attractions are within easy reach of the campground. These include the White Pines, which is a prairie paradise in the sylvan, and the Oregon Museum of History. There are several restaurants and brewpubs that will keep you full. It's also close to Ogle County, which is the largest tourism center. There are many other things you can do in the area such as cruising Washington, Illinois's charming riverfront city. Many small lakes and parks are located in the surrounding area, which is great for both kids and pets.
