Boy Scouts of America (BSA), a non-camp youth-serving organisation, uses the outdoors to build character, leadership and a sense of belonging. During the summer months, thousands of children and young adults go on exciting, hands-on outdoor adventures. The BSA is committed in teaching life-long values. The program has a fun, exciting, and educational curriculum that prepares kids for the future.
The BSA also has a family-based program called Cub Scouting. Its mission is to encourage healthy and active living by young people. Its programs emphasize teamwork, personal accomplishment, and self-improvement. This program offers activities such as backpacking, hiking and camping. It also encourages kids to use their imaginations, develop their skills, and discover new interests.
Venturing, which is youth-led, combines Scouting’s core values with outdoor adventure. This program allows young people to meet new friends and learn new skills. It also helps them develop leadership skills. It offers long-term and short-term camping, backpacking, and backcountry trips. Throughout the program, participants may participate in high-adventure activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, and more.
The BSA has several other camp options that can help scouts discover the great outdoors. Camp Tuckahoe (242-acre) is located on Stillwater Lake. Another popular facility is Camp Circle X at Big Horn, which is located in Tonner Canyon.
The Boy Scouts of America's Paul Bunyan Scout Reservation spans 600 acres and borders Huron National Forest. It is located southwest of Kalamazoo in Texas Township. It can also been found on M-33. This high-adventure camp is open to boys and girls from six to twelve years of age.
Camp Brorein, one of the oldest camps within the Boy Scouts of America was opened for the first time in 1923. The camp is bordered by two lakes and many Live Oaks trees. It also boasts a shooting sports range as well as an indoor eating area. Scouts love the camp.
The camp was managed by the Alexander Hamilton Council in Hudson County, NJ during the 1930s/40s. It was one of the first to offer Wood Badge training in America. In 1979, the council shut down the camp. The 56 acres of land remaining were sold.
The Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation, which consists of three clear spring-fed natural lake systems, was established in 1972. It is situated near Cypress Gardens. It is known for its beautiful wilderness.
The S - F Scout Ranch consists of four camps. Sinquefield Scout Ranch is 580-acres. It is a member of the Mic-O-Say Scout honor society and has a metal shop and full wood shop. It also offers scouting camps for ages ten through fourteen. It is the fourth camp in S - F.
Boy Scouts of America (BSA), has a responsibility to its scouts. This requires the organization to provide adequate training and to make sure its volunteer troop leaders are properly supervised. The Youth Protection Program also helps with this responsibility.
