Lake LaDonna Family Campground, a family-friendly campground is located near White Pines Forest Nature Preserve (and the city of Oregon). As with any tourist destination, you may encounter people aplenty while you're here. The campground is not short on amenities, including swimming pools, a game room, a plethora of onsite entertainment options and some pretty well stocked showers and restrooms. It is so popular that they have a waitinglist.
The campground has its fair share of snooty campers, so it's best to have the right people in your group. The staff isn’t too picky. The campsite can be found at 1302 S Harmony Road just east Oregon. You may need to reserve a campsite. May and September are the most popular months for camping, with June and October being slower. The campground is pet-friendly, but special rules apply. You can find a variety of attractions within walking distance of the campground, including White Pines, a prairie paradise, and Oregon Museum of History. There are also several restaurants and pubs that will keep your hunger at bay. It's also close to Ogle County, which is the largest tourism center. There are many other things you can do in the area such as cruising Washington, Illinois's charming riverfront city. A number of parks and small lakes are found in the immediate area. They are perfect for pets as well as kids.
